A medical doctor and the Founder and Lead of ALIBSA (Ageing Lifestyle in Blacks and Asians), a knowledge exchange platform with over 100 members that aims to improve health equity through health literacy. As an experienced and proactive academic, and a well-established research lead, I have been successful in making significant impacts and internationally acknowledged for knowledge exchange, business and public engagement, and partnership in academia, health technology and sports industries.

He is also committed to promoting Global Health Literacy, aligning with ALIBSA’s mission. As the head of ALIBSA’s Media and Publicity Team, Oluwatobi leads a group of passionate, skilled individuals with expertise in areas such as graphic design, content writing, and social media management. Together, they work to promote ALIBSA’s initiatives and broaden its impact in public health and awareness.

Dr Abolanle

A medical doctor and doctoral researcher with a strong focus on physical activity and mental well-being. I am deeply passionate about promoting health awareness and empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being. My work revolves around understanding the barriers to physical activity, particularly among underrepresented communities, and advocating for inclusive health strategies.My passion aligns seamlessly with ALIBSA’s mission to enhance health literacy and wellbeing among Black and Asian communities. As an administrative member and event manager for ALIBSA, I actively contribute to organising initiatives that foster awareness, engagement, and community support. Through my role, I am committed to bridging gaps in health knowledge and encouraging lifestyle choices that promote long term wellbeing. Being part of ALIBSA has been a fulfilling opportunity to connect with the community and drive meaningful change in health education and accessibility.

Alosh K

I started my journey in sports as a passionate cricketer in India before moving to the UK in 2018 to pursue a master’s in sports management at Northumbria University.

In 2020, I founded Cricketqube, a social enterprise focused on making cricket more accessible to ethnic minorities and older adults. Through this, I have promoted inclusivity, physical activity, and social well-being. I also serve as an advisory board member for Newcastle College and a board member at Hunslet Rugby League FC, leading efforts in equality, diversity, and inclusion within sports.

My passion for community health and social change aligns with ALIBSA’s mission to advance health equity through education. ALIBSA creates a space where academics, healthcare professionals, and communities collaborate to improve health literacy and access for Black and Asian populations. By co-hosting webinars and engaging with stakeholders, I strive to bridge the gap between research and real-world impact, ensuring that vital knowledge.

Dr Zheng Ma

I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Science (Epidemiology & Biostatistics) at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

My research activities focus on generating new knowledge and synthesising current knowledge for ‘dietary approaches to promote brain health’, ‘healthy ageing’, ‘wellbeing’ and ‘technology-enhanced learning’. He has been listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists List for four consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024) by the Stanford University. He has more than 8 years of teaching experience (spanning across the UK, China, Malaysia and New Zealand) to the role. He currently teach on Advanced Evidence-based Population Health and Epidemiology of Non-communicable Diseases modules. He supervise MSc dissertation students studying MSc Public Health. A lead reviewer for the UWE HEA Fellowship Scheme.
