I am a medical doctor and the Founder and Lead of ALIBSA (Ageing Lifestyle in Blacks and Asians), a knowledge exchange platform with over 100 members that aims to improve health equity through health literacy. 

Our Focus at ALIBSA

This joint initiative is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between UWE, Bristol and Cricketqube that brings together a diverse array of experts, including GPs, public health professionals, and academics.

Our speakers delve into topics crucial for supporting ageing in South Asian and Black older adults, offering insights on maintaining an active lifestyles and improving overall well-being.

ALIBSA is dedicated to promoting ageing related health literacy (and research engagement) especially within the blacks and asian communities, empowering them with knowledge about varying health conditions, and access and uptake of healthcare services.

There are various ways to get involved! You can be a champion or a volunteer with us. Visit our “Get Involved” page for more details on how you can make a difference.

We hold a monthly webinar where we invite seasoned professionals to educate the community on the subjects of interest, and this offers the privilege of asking questions within and outside the subject of discussion.

We also hold Physical meetings annually, engaging with members of the community alongside healthcare service providers, policy makers etc. Bridging the gap between underrepresented communities, healthcare service providers and healthcare policy makers. We also promote ALIBSA through presentations in conferences, meetings and seminars.

Yes! We offer virtual volunteering opportunities and remote involvement for those who are not in the UK.
