We are thrilled to announce that ALIBSA has been named Runner-Up in the Education & Training category at the RISE Awards 2025 — a prestigious honour recognising research, innovation, sustainability, and enterprise.

On Thursday 4th September 2025, ALIBSA (Ageing Lifestyle in Blacks and Asians) was awarded Runner‑Up in the Education & Training category at the Research Innovation Sustainability Enterprise (RISE) Awards 2025, held at Loughborough University, UK. This accolade recognises the substantial impact ALIBSA has made in education, training, and community‑engaged research toward reducing health inequalities affecting Black and Asian communities.

The award was presented to the Founder and Lead of ALIBSA, Dr. Faatihah Niyi-Odumosu by Professor Colin Booth at the Conference held at Loughborough University

The RISE Awards celebrate institutions, initiatives, and individuals making outstanding contributions in areas of Research, Innovation, Sustainability, and Enterprise. That ALIBSA was named Runner‑Up in the Education & Training category is a validation that its work is being recognised beyond local or academic circles — that its model is judged to be impactful, innovative, and sustainable.

This achievement would not have been possible without the ALIBSA team, whose dedication, expertise, and compassion are driving real change, ALIBSA volunteers and Champions, ALIBSA community members and partner organisations, and the panel and organisers of the RISE Awards for recognising such work.

ALIBSA’s recognition as Runner‑Up in the Education & Training category of the RISE Awards 2025 isn’t just an award; it is a signal. A signal that community‑centred training and education – especially when co‑developed, inclusive, culturally sensitive – can help close the gap in health inequalities.

ALIBSA remains committed to advancing health equity through health literacy.
